You can’t block me now

Government agencies, businesses, schools many of them already migrated their e-mail services to Google’s Gmail. They all want more space, more reliability and better control over their e-mail hosting server. This is nothing new. According to Google over 6 million students already use Google Apps.

54% of U.S. companies block social media sites according to Robert Half Technology Survey. It’s not the first and the last time when Employers are using firewalls to block their workers from social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook or MySpace, well it’s time to change all that. Google Buzz is integrated into Gmail leaving Employers without option to block the access.

Will this be a sign or a message that we don’t need to be blocked? How about employers, will they realize the future and potential of social media sites? Well I really hope so, however it’s very early to say for sure.
